Mr. & Mrs Batman Smith Begins
Better wear out shoes than sheets.
Beware of a silent dog and still water.
Black as hell, strong as death, sweet as love. (About coffee.).
Commit a sin twice and it will not seem a crime.
Curiosity killed the cat.
Darkness reigns at the foot of the lighthouse.
It is not a nice sensation to burn out - to burn out during the holidays is even worse.
That is what happened today. However, to understand the reason for my combustion, one must know what I have been up to for the past week.
So here goes:
Monday was the only day not booked by anyone. ‘Anyone’ here refers to school, friends or church. As such, I thought I might as well send time with TKM since I have not done so quite a while. We did a double whammy.
-migumi laughter-
Watched Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Batman Begins.
-more migumi laughter-
Review shall come later.
-grinz-
We rushed from one theatre to another with barely any time to go to the washroom. I had a great time with TKM, can't wait to do it again! Woohoo~
For Tuesday through to Thursday, I was supposed to be a trainer at my church’s Praiser’s Camp, but due to my YFC project, I could not make it on Tuesday. Had the meeting with Swee Shoon, Hui Min, Yilinn and Erica at Shaw House instead.
I though I was going to be the latest because I left the house late and I took the wrong mrt.
Surprise, surprise, our dear Swee Shoon, who is usually the earliest, went to Shaw Towers instead of Shaw House, Hui Min and Yilinn got held up at the printers, and Erica was late as well. The leader – founder of the Choop Seat society that I am, I bought a drink from McCafe and looked for the nicest seat for the 5 of us.
The meeting went well and we managed to get quite a bit done.
Went home and prepared to go to cell group.
Nadia and Joses visited on Tuesday! :D I hope they had a good time. Jeff asked me to lead praise and worship for next week… alamak~ I haven planned my song list yet ah~
Wednesday morning I got up early hitched a ride with Nadia to church. The kids managed to record quite a few songs that day and I had a good time with the bunch, though most of the time the Praise leaders were rather out of hand. Its odd how the older kids are more immature compared to the kids they are supposed to be training.
After the camp ended, I hitched a ride with the Foo family to Kovan to meet up with my society members. For one, I had to eat my dinner and for two, they wanted to take neo-prints. Sadly, Eileen and Glann were late, so we did not get to take the pictures and we ended up being late for training. On the up-side, Alfred, Hui Fen and I managed to get one taken.
-hysterical laughter-
Training was stressful for me, coz my partner for the evening was Chi Foong. He was training my sparring methods, and he has very high expectations. Not that that is a bad thing, its just that its hard to kick high and not miss the target when one is very close to concussing. The brown belters did not help the situation with all their antiques. If they refuse to learn and do their taegueks properly, I have nothing to say. They can go and waste their parent’s money for all I care.
By the way, during the camp, I was so tired I fell asleep during periods when the kids and leaders were making the most noise. Nadia was in the same boat as well.
Mummy was warded for operation on Thursday morning as I continued my camp at GEC. I am proud of the kids for what they accomplished yesterday. Though the Praise kids were tired, they pushed on and got more songs recorded. We had an early nap time that day, during which, I was blessed to be able to get some much needed rest, even if it was just for half an hour. :)
I had to leave the church before the breaking of camp due to my job. By then, the rest had worn off and I was very close to falling asleep in front of my students. -.-lll
It is by God’s grace that I was able to make it home without falling asleep on the bus ah~
My sleep last night can be described in one word: shiok.
I slept without any disturbance save irritation from my sore throat. I had to get up half way to drink water because of that sickening sandpaper sensation.
When I did get up, I found that I had lots of mail to clear and the YFC to deal with. It was all good until I decided to take a nap at 4pm.
For tonight and yesterday, there has been a healing rally taking place at GEC and tonight I was supposed to be there to help look after the children who turned up with their parents.
I knew I had to sleep for a while to prepare myself for the potentially long night ahead of me, I thought that an hour would be enough but unfortunately, when I was roused by my alarm clock, I was assailed by an overall dizziness and overwhelming urge to puke. As soon as TKM and YKM knew of this, they ‘ordered’ me not to go for the service. I then made the necessary phone calls and went back to bed, praying all the way that I would get better and not vomit all over the bed.
I have a feeling that all the ‘sick’ feeling was caused by headless chicken in overdrive, hence the burning down and out of my body. *bleah*
Too sick to go to a healing rally.
How ironic.
Tomorrow is another day, hope I get time to go and visit my mummy… *sigh*
As for the review of the movies:
I have been looking forward to watching Mr. & Mrs. Smith since last year. I like Brad Pitt… what to do?
-swoons over Brad-
The pair have very good on screen chemistry, I don care what they say in the media. They are good actors and it shows. The press should keep their noses to themselves. I think Brad has had enough with it all.
-gets back from digressing-
The movie has a good plot and the action scenes are cool with all the explosions as well as fighting all over the place. The ending was kind of anti-climatically done though; I guess they were trying remained focus on issue of love instead of ending people’s lives.
Would I watch it again? Have to think about that.
Would I buy the VCD/DVD when it comes out? I like Brad Pitt, what do you think?
-loud migumi laughter-
Batman Begins is another thing entirely.
It’s dark, deep and delightful, like chocolate. XD
Christian Bale totally fits the role of the dark night. He moves effortlessly from play boy to caped crusader. He makes the role very human indeed. Not to forget the ‘toys’, they are cool and I can’t help wondering whether they can be used in real life as well as in reel life.
-sinks into thought-
As much as I would like to root for the female lead to get the guy, or the guy to get the girl, the character whom Katie Holms plays does not deserve to get Bruce. She is much too one dimensional. The ‘yin-yang’ thing doesn’t seem to be working for them at all~ heehee…
I can confidently say that the verdict on the movie is out: IT ROCKS!!!
Can’t wait for the next installment! :D
Would I watch it again? Sure!
Would I buy the VCD/DVD when it comes out? YEESSS!!!
Saturday is going to come upon me …. I need to go to bed… if not tomorrow also kanna burn out… still have to find the energy to make it to Sunday.
Once more: So little time, so many things to do.
I have things to do, places to go and people to kill… buah hahahaha~
The joy of the Lord is my strength!
Cheers!
^-^
By the way, I am trying my hand at playing a new song on the piano. :) Can't wait to master it~
